“The Desert is the threshold to the meeting ground of God and man. It is the scene of the exodus. You do not settle there, you pass through. One then ventures on … because one is driven by the Spirit towards the Promised Land. But it is only promised to those who are able to chew sand for forty years without doubting their invitation to the feast in the end.” Alessandro Pronzato

The exhibit, titled “Painting the Desert,” is an expression of my journey post-pandemic as I look with hope toward a new day dawning while I “chew sand.” Since the pandemic I have found myself in a season of ‘desert wandering’. God has never been so silent, yet in the silence, His presence is deafening. His Spirit is causing me to trust Him when prayers go unanswered, when dreams dry up, when I have no idea where I’m going. It’s been a place of transforming faith that is drawing me nearer to Him.
